Sawn Timber

Bespoke Timber Milling

Timber milling is at the heart of any timber operation. Beginning with the log fresh from the forest it is converted into planks using our state-of-the-art Woodmizer LT70 timber mill.

Saw Your Own Logs

We are happy to saw your own logs for you. If you contact us to drop them off and we can let you know when your timber is ready to collect.

Planks of any thickness can be cut on request producing a rough sawn finish that is in fact fairly smooth and suitable for many uses without further processing.

Larch Timber Products

Larch timber has a natural resistance to both water and decay making it perfect for outdoor project like decking, fencing and garden design. It’s durability and strength is complemented by it’s sustainability and aesthetic appeal.

Yorkshire Cladding

Larch is an ideal timber for Yorkshire cladding. This technique, often referred to as board on board and batten is a classic style of vertical timber cladding.

A resinous wood it is naturally resistant to insects. The resin in the wood repels insects and deters them from burrowing into your wood.

It is used extensively in buildings where environmental impace and eco-design are a priority. It’s contemporary style provides a flexible and cost effective cladding solution.

Our cladding is usually provided 80mm and 150 mm wide.

Larch Fence Rails

Horses can sometimes damage timber fencing by repetitive use as a scratching post or chewing.  Rails milled from Larch are a good option for your equestrian needs as horses seem less inclined to chew Larch wood.

Sizes: 3600 x 100 x 38 mm

Garden Sleepers

Sleepers are an ideal use for larch with it’s resistance to rot and decay. Sleepers for landscaping or raised beds can be milled to your personal specifications from our stock of Larch timber.  They can be used to create a focal point for your garden without the need to build more expensive masonry options.

Standard sizes: 2400 x 195 x 95 mm.

Timber for Furniture

Once logs have been converted into boards using our Woodmizer LT70 they are stacked with sticks between each board and left in the open air to season.

Air naturally circulates around the boards, gradually reducing the high moisture content of freshly cut ‘green’ timber to a much lower level.  After the timber has lost most of it’s moisture to the air, it is placed in the kiln to further reduce the moisture content to a suitable level for furniture production.

Our stock timber will have been cut to a variety of sizes depending upon the properties of the original log.  In most cases it may be able to cut slabs to custom sizes to meet the needs of you, the customer.  Prices quoted are initially for sawn timber.  Timber boards planed both sides can also be supplied.

We provide a chargeable delivery service if required. Local delivery is included.

Our stock of timber suitable for furniture making is constantly changing.
